NZ Ministry

In addition to the services we provide our members, we also make ourselves available to the minister to the wider Christian community. Mission agencies and ‘para-church’ organizations have been viewed as groups that only take from local churches. We’re concerned about being able to give back – to feed the roots not just take the fruit. We are just a service provider after all. Without the local church sending workers, our existence is questionable.

Our team is well trained in Christian ministry, with experience in a variety of theological and pastoral capacities. We’re available to serve churches with ministries such as:

  • Sunday Morning Sharing (e.g. sermons) – we encourage church leaders to pick the topic or suggest the content you’d like to focus on
  • More interactive evening services – that appeals to all ages, especially younger ones
  • Musical cafe evenings (see concerts)
  • Interactive prayer events, focused on the nations (see concerts)
  • Consulting with your mission team or mission focused leader(s).

The education of a congregation is an important part of church life. We encourage churches to bring in outside expertise to help raise awareness of issues beyond the stop of your church community. Obviously we feel we can provide some of that expertise through one-off seminars and weekend short courses…

  • Interactive and challenging small group presentations – encouraging people into active involvement in ministry and mission
  • Mission subjects such as the Biblical basis for mission – including local and global focuses, and mission trends etc
  • Generational change and its implication for church life, local ministry and global mission
  • Personal development – finding your fit in God’s Kingdom, maximizing your contribution, discovering ‘vocation’ or calling.
  • Interpersonal relationships – communication, conflict management, coping with difference, etc
  • Cross-cultural training – understanding worldview and culture, the process of change and adaptation etc.

Pioneer Road

Our director, Jamie Matenga Wood is an accomplished singer songwriter who performs solo acoustic concerts for anywhere up to two hours. Accompanied by guitar and some gadgetry, Jamie weaves a narrative thread throughout the concert that will encourage people along their discipleship road – the pioneer road. Songs have the ability to strike right at the heart, and Jamie’s songs, delivered in a powerful folk/rock vocal style, have appeal to both Christian and non-Christian alike.

Every song is introduced with a Scriptural foundation and the meanings are supported by lyrics and images projected onto the screen. Some people like to read along, others will be touched by the images, most will be content to sit back and soak in the melody and meaning.

Concerts Of Prayer

More than a prayer meeting, more than a concert, a concert of prayer is a way of praying for the world that is never boring and always effective. A time slot (usually from 60 – 90 minutes) is broken down into 10 – 15 minute sections. The room is separated into prayer stations, each with its unique focus and visual aids. The congregation is separated into groups via colored cards.

The time is then interspersed with sung worship, break out group prayer times, and large group prayer times. Prayer is given for one another, for the church, the community and the nations. If your church has a specific need, prayer can be focused on that. A concert of prayer will be an event your fellowship talks about for a long time and is likely to continue impacting individuals for a long time.
