Our primary focus is on seeing Kiwi Christians placed and thriving in cross-cultural contexts – Kiwis who will make a difference. But as an infamous Kiwi has said “It may not happen over night…” and mission doesn’t.

A wise person once said, “There’s no such thing as short-term mission.” In a sense that’s true. As disciples of Jesus we’re called to a lifelong commitment to the purposes that God has prepared in advance for us. However, while we encourage a sense of ‘long term purpose’, we also see a place for shorter engagements that support long term purposes.

We operate on a tight budget in New Zealand and only have resources for a limited number of highly dedicated staff. If we’re in need of a new team player, we’ll post the vacancy here. We are always willing to discuss volunteer opportunities with people though!

We also have a cross-cultural ministry team operating in NZ. The team members are involved locally but have regular contact with a particular overseas ministry as well. If you have “serial short term” involvement somewhere that fits with Pioneers’ aims perhaps NZ team involvement will be an encouragement to you?
